The 14th International Tourism and Handicrafts Exhibition opened in Tehran in the presence of Ali Asghar Monesan, Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, and special guests at the Tehran International Exhibition Center. The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by a group of tourism activists, members of parliament, and representatives of foreign embassies, including Iraq, Great Britain, Austria, Uzbekistan, and Italy. The opening ceremony was accompanied by performances by local musical groups.
Many provincial exhibitors hope the fair will mark a different Nowruz and offset some of the damage of the past year. However, the Anti Covid-19 National Headquarters has not yet announced a final decision on Nowruz trips. Of course, the Deputy Minister of Tourism and the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts announced at the opening of the exhibition that they had obtained permission for Nowruz travel on a limited basis, subject to health protocols, and considered the exhibition the beginning of tourism after a year of stagnation.
14th International Tourism and Handicrafts Exhibition, which is held for the first time due to the special conditions of Covid-19 with special conditions, is ready to provide information on tourism and handicraft issues in four halls. In this exhibition, which is attended by about 160 companies active in the field of tourism, three halls are dedicated to the field of tourism and one hall to handicrafts and traditional arts.
Earlier, tourism officials said that the reason for holding this exhibition in the context of the corona outbreak was to help the tourism industry and also to introduce travel methods during the period of pandemia.
The tourism and handicrafts exhibition will be held from today (February 23) at the Tehran International Exhibition Center and will be held until Friday (February 26). Visiting hours of the exhibition are from 9 am to 5 pm.
