Introducing

Zanjan or Zangan province, which is also called the plateau of the same name, is located in northwestern Iran. It is bordered by seven other provinces. The name Zanjan is an Arabic word for Zangan. The people of the region still use the pronunciation of Zangan. Zanjan province is one of the historical areas of Iran and archaeological excavations and historical artifacts show its longevity and antiquity. The historical background of this province can be studied in four historical periods: prehistoric, historical, modern, and Islamic. The date of its construction is known at the same time as the reign of Ardeshir Babakan and it was called Shahin meaning attributed to the king. It is said that this name has been changed to Zangan and then to Zanjan over the centuries. Handicrafts such as Warsaw, silversmithing, tapestry, embroidery, coppersmithing, knife-making, and carpet-weaving are among the most well-known.
