El-Goli is one of Tabriz’s famous tourist destinations. The mansion is located in El-Goli park in the city of Tabriz in the province of Eastern Azerbaijan. It is not known exactly when the building was constructed, but it was rebuilt in 1970 with the same design as before with two floors.

The very first eye-catching spot of Tabriz is El-Goli Park. When you road trip from Tehran to Tabriz this Park with lofty trees and a pool of water with a palace in the middle makes your boredom disappear. The pool is 16 meters deep, and stairways are led to different spots of the park so keep calm and do not wander!! Hotel nearby named Pars is a five-star hotel with 179 rooms if you get lucky you can book a room there and enjoy the view. Park almost is packed during spring and summer. Tourists may find El-Goli the best place to camp in Tabriz because of the friendly atmosphere and facilities such as bathrooms, supermarkets, and security.

History of El-Goli

It is not clear when the park was established. However, it is seen that it was first used as a water resource for agricultural purposes. Park was used as a summer palace during the Qajar dynasty. It contains a water pool and a palace. It was rearranged in the Park Pahlavi period. Although the name was changed to El-Goli in the official documents after the Iran Revolution in 1979, it is still used today as its old name Shahgoli.

El-Goli or Shahgoli covers an area of 55 thousand square meters in the southern part of Tabriz. Its relief is hilly, with many walking paths, flowerbeds, lawns, and fountains. The pool is built in the form of an amphitheater through which a stream passes and is surrounded by many trees, grass, and dense herbs. The exact date of construction of the pool is not known, but it was destroyed in 1967 due to the severe humidity, so another swimming pool was built in the same place and with the same previous design in 1970 with an area of 54,675 square meters. This park represents one of the most beautiful recreation areas in Tabriz. Next to the park is a small Luna Park, cozy cafes, and restaurants of national cuisine.
